“SHEskilled – A holistic Upskilling initiative for immigrant women”

Brainymotion AG from Germany (Leader), as well as DIAN from Greece (partner) and SAMPEDRO Y TORRES, COOP.V. from Spain (partner), have been implementing the European Program “SHEskilled – A Holistic Upskilling Initiative for Immigrant Women” from 01/10/2022 to 01/10/2023.
The “SHEskilled” program aims to train Migrant Women (Target Group) in ICT technologies and applications, as well as Job seeking coaching. To achieve this goal, appropriate participants who belong to the Migrant Women group, were trained.
DIAN, Brainymotion AG and SAMPEDRO Y TORRES, COOP.V. have completed the training activities organized, in the context of the “SHEskilled” Program, that took place from 17/7/2023 to 28/7/2023 in which six (6) immigrant women in Greece, seven (7) in Spain and five (5) in Germany participated. The 18 immigrant women were trained according to the proposal of the project on the subject of information, communication technologies. This was done in order to provide this disadvantaged group the opportunity to perhaps choose a new career path in a growing sector of the economy. Furthermore the immigrant women were provided a job-coaching session with the aim of increasing their employability thus assisting in their integration of the immigrant women in the local societies. Women were specifically chosen because they are underrepresented in the ICT sector.
The trainings were implemented successfully and the participants were very happy with the results. Their testaments show they were treated with respect and enjoyed the opportunity to improve their skills and make them more valuable and confident as a result. The participants demonstrated punctuality, eagerness and were treated with respect during the implementation of the trainings. While they enjoyed the process of learning a new skill, what they unanimously agreed upon was that their favourite part was the job-coaching part of the trainings, because they enjoyed the social aspect of it.
In order to implement the trainings in Greece, DIAN partnered with the Athens office of Goodwill Caravan, an NGO which already works with migrants in order to find them a place in the local societies.
